The Grenache vines that provide the greatest proportion of this wine are amongst Mitchell’s oldest and most prized. The low yields contribute to a wine that is both potent and brimming with ripe fruit character. No oak is used so the emphasis is on grape quality alone. The Mouvèdre and Sangiovese are used as seasoning to add both body and acidity to the finished wine. Heady and strong, a real winter warmer.
